🇫🇷 Parisian Unique Gems & Top Photo-Worthy Spots in Paris

To help you visit Paris, I listed for you some of my favorite Parisian Gems & top photo spots in Paris in this article! Welcome to your French journey! I am here to prepare you for your trip to Paris and teach you Modern French.

1. PARISIAN GEM: Au Vieux Paris d’Arcole in Île de la cité (24 rue Chanoinesse 75004)

🔎 Google map location: https://goo.gl/maps/gnZGWxcuXrtwMXUt6

🇫🇷 Au Vieux Paris d’Arcole is registered as one of the oldest documented restaurants in Paris, located 100 meters away from Notre Dame, and is one of my favorite quartiers: l'ile St Louis. It was built around the same time Notre Dame Cathedral was completed, in 1512. It was once home to the Canon of the Cathedral.

🇫🇷 Quaint, unique, and affordable restaurant, perfect for a glass of wine in a French velvety unique atmosphere. J'adore cet endroit! Don't mistake it for just a fantastic place for a worthy Instagram. Follow me and step inside this well-kept secret of Paris.

This small restaurant may not look like much from the outside, but is simply breathtaking! Set over two floors, the ground floor level comes complete with a vintage bar and authentic tavern feel, while the upper floor greets you with a small ante-chamber room with several dining tables and a cozy fireplace.

🇫🇷 My favorite dishes to order:

Plat principal = the main course = Filet de Daurade Royale (sea bream fillet) or Confit de Canard (duck confit... my absolute favorite!) or you can try their Ravioli also.

Dessert = Crêpe Suzette ou Crème brûlée with an Expresso bien sur!

🇫🇷 A step down this street is stepping into the very underbelly of medieval Paris. You wish that walls could talk when you walk down cette rue (this street). C'est formidable, agréable et mémorable!

Let me guide you on your French Journey to enhance your ability to talk in French & enjoy your trip like a local. I am so excited for you to start your classes with me!

2. PARISIAN GEM: Odette Paris in the Latin Quarter (77 Rue Galande - 75005)

🔎 Google map location: https://goo.gl/maps/3aaAVVqaxZ5kt9bG8

It's 6mn walking distance from Au Vieux Paris d'Arcole

🇫🇷 Pretty and vintage, streets like this make Paris so pretty and unique. Along this cute road, you’ll see Odette Paris, where you will find the best choux pastry (cream puffs) in Paris. After visiting Notre Dame, stop by for an affordable dessert and café! TOP Photo-Worthy Spots in Paris.

🇫🇷 Located just behind the iconic bookstore of Shakespeare and Co., you’ll find a little-cobbled lane that many people miss in lieu of a more iconic walk down the Seine. However, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t miss out on this iconic Parisian street while in the French capital…

🇫🇷Unique Places near Odette Paris

Due to its prime location in the heart of the historic Latin Quarter (named for students of the nearby Sorbonne University in the Middle Ages who solely conversed in Latin), nearby, you’ll find...

🇫🇷 The oldest tree in Paris: This tree is over 400 years old! I invite you to wander into Square René-Viviani where you will find it in a pretty green space, perfect for a Parisian picnic overlooking Notre Dame!

🇫🇷 St Julien le Pauvre: An ancient church that few wander into, the ecclesiastical building is one of the oldest places of worship in Paris and is situated right next to Odette. The adjacent square of René Viviani was once used as a 6th Century cemetery.

🇫🇷 The Abbey Bookshop: A firm favorite of anglophones and a store that should be equally famous as its nearby iconic neighbor, Shakespeare and Co.

🇫🇷 Collège des Bernardins: This ancient set of buildings was first built to house ecclesiastical members who attended the nearby Sorbonne University. Today, the College functions as a cultural hub, giving lectures and talks on all manner of philosophy and other humanities of interest.

BON VOYAGE and don't hesitate to contact me on my direct email for any questions!

Frenchly yours,

Miss Valérie
